Problem Definition Although we are at the end of PMP course, it is interesting to use Bruce Tuckman Model to assess the project implantation team. The team now is under a lot of improvements, so it is important to know the leadership style required to manage the team. Table 1 : PI team score results Table 1 shows that the team now at the stage of performing. The team now at performing stage where rank does not matter and trust and flexibility among team members are established. Also, we expect to see at this stage a high level of creativity and attachment to the team and proper utilization of team resource to achieve the common objectives. However, there is a small difference between norming and performing stages . Feasible Alternatives The leadership style at this stage is critical because keeping the team together while achieving the objective is really important. Therefore the suggested leadership styles are: -           Democratic -           Laissez-Fiare

Problem Recognition The HSE department in our company is looking for a communication method that can be used for notification of incident for the projects under construction in our company. Using the wrong method can cause the project's communications to fail thus results in disputes. The project implementation department is in direct contact with project companies, therefore, choosing the best way of communication is our responsibility. Feasible alternative The Guild of Project Controls Compendium and Reference and Rita’s book suggest many methods of communications which some of them are verbal and others are written, some are formal and others are informal. Some these methods are: a.        Email b.       Letters c.        Social Media Apps d.       Phone calls e.       Face to Face Meetings Outcomes from alternatives -           Email: informal written communication. Problem Definition As I mentioned in one of my previous blogs ( Tendering Process ), we are in the process of procuring the Market Management System (MMS) for Oman Electricity Market. Mainly, the system consists of a client-server application and a database to store the processed data. There are many type of databases that can be used but we are looking for a stable, well-known and cost effective one. Development of Feasible Alternatives There are four feasible alternatives for database engines: Oracle Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) MySQL Development of the Outcome for Alternative The following attributes are considered to check which alternative is more suitable for this problem Operating Systems Compatibility Fundamental features Data size limits Database capabilities Price Durability Table 1 lists the comparison date for the three alternatives. W10_Nasser_PARETO Analysis 1-      Problem Recognition During the life of a project, there are some problems may the project faces and it could affect its life cycle. Most of these problems is different from one to another depends on the followings:  causes of the problems themselves The effect of the problem The size of its impact on the specific phase and the whole project.  To look at the causes and impacts of any problem, the decision maker needs to use an effective tool and technique. One main that can be used in identifying the main causes and impacts of any problem is the PARETO Analysis. In this blog 10, I am going to use the PARETO tool to analyze one main problem that my department faces some months while processing the monthly invoice which is the accuracy of the plant model- Fuel Demand Model (FDM) while running it- which is used in calculating the Fuel charge.  Picture from: https://www.google.com/search?q=pareto+analysis&source=ln

Problem Definition As I explained in my blog of last week, the IT department is in its structuring process and in this blog I will discuss the evaluation process of the operating system, which is a software that manages computer hardware and software resources and provides common services for computer program, that we are going to use in the department that helps that staff to do their operation and administration in a secure and proficient manner. Development of Feasible Alternatives There are four feasible alternatives for the operating systems: Windows Mac OS Linux Development of the Outcome for Alternative The following attributes are considered to check which alternative is more suitable for this problem Security Compatibility Technical support Price Reliability Viruses Processing Speed Table 1 lists the comparison date for the three alternatives. W10__Hamda__ Determining the amount of Incentives and Disincentives for Power and Water Projects__Part4 1-      Problem Definition Any project in the world example Industrial Projects such as: Power Generation plants, Water Desalination plants, Power and Water Plants, Refineries, and any other industrial projects have 3 main stages. The first stage is the Bidding stage, where all the project details, and all specifications refer to the design of the plant and the technologies to be used, the site selected for the project are set in such documents- Project Definition Documents. The second stage which is the main important stage in the project life cycle since the third stage depends on it is the Implementation stage or in other word is the Construction stage. In this stage, the construction of the project will be started, so any fault or any delay in this stage will cause a delay in the whole project which will cause a delay in the production of the project which will put the
